Getting around

Call Traveline (0871 200 22 33) for public-transport information. The region is well served by buses, and trains follow the coast up to Wick then across to Thurso. Scottish Citylink (0870 550 5050) runs regular services from Inverness through to Wick, stopping at most towns on the A9 and A99 along the way, before taking the short cut inland to Thurso. Rapsons/Highland Country (01463-710555) operates buses from Wick to Thurso, via the coast and John o’Groats. Stagecoach Inverness (01463-239292) runs services to towns close to (including north of) Inverness.
