Taste sensations range from wood-fired pizzas to a Moroccan chicken and chickpea salad.

    Huge windows fronting the street greet patrons to this outstanding eatery specialising in gastronomic delights and lazy afternoons. There are lots of little spaces filled with couches and chunky tables, reflecting a sense of intimacy. The large starter-menu can be treated like tapas, making it good for sharing. There are lots of delightful creations that use seasonal and local produce, with an eclectic variety of influences.

    West Regent Street Bistro

    Chic, stylishly laid-back and sleek in design, this bistro serves big wholesome portions of food at very reasonable prices. Popular with the after-work crowd (come later) it does a good mix of down-to-earth pub food tarted up and more inventive cuisine. Try the lamb shank slowly braised in red wine, orange, thyme and redcurrant jelly.

    This comfortable split-level bistro buzzes with contented chatter. French, Mediterranean and Asian touches add intrigue to the predominantly British menu, and a good-value fixed-price deal (2/3 courses £14/16) is available daily, though only for early diners at weekends.
