Lonely Planet review for Seafood Temple
Locally sourced seafood is the god that’s worshipped at this tiny temple – a former park pavilion with glorious views over the bay. Owned by a former fisherman who smokes his own salmon, what must be Oban’s smallest restaurant serves up whole lobster cooked to order, scallops in garlic butter, plump langoustines, and the ‘platter magnifique’ (£60 for two persons), which offers a taste of everything. Booking essential.

Simply delightful!

Having arrived in Oban extremely dispirited, with horizontal rain adding to our sense of bleakness. Discovering this unpretentious delighful treasure, boosted our Pre-Hogmany morale. The food was excellent each course surpassing the last. The staff made us incredibly welcome and the atmosphere intimate and convivial. We await a call to tell us they have langostines and we will be back for more tasty treats!

Oh. My. God. AMAZING!

My wife and I visited the Seafood Temple on a Friday night and the place is awesome! It is a small venue but furnished to a high standard in a restaurant/cafe style. The views across the bay are excellent. We booked a table which I'd advise doing as it seemed to be fairly full and is only a small venue. We were met by very friendly staff who gave us a great table. The menu is small with everything off a blackboard. I had scallops and my wife had mussels to start which were both fantastic. As a seafood lover, this food is some of the best i've ever had. For main we shared the seafood platter. The wine was delicious and very well priced, £15 bottle. Pudding we had the strawberry pavlova. The service throughout was excellent and the atmosphere nice and very friendly. I honestly think this is a real hidden gem in Oban. You have to try this place!!

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Temple. We both love seafood and fish. The Temple was by far the best. The surf and turf was a dream, hard to find words for such a tender fillet steak - beyond all expectations! The service was charming, we got all information where and when the seafoof got caught. An experiece well worth repeating.
The wonderful evening was topped off with a sensationel sunset (see picture)Good for: dinner, local produce, amazing views, Excellent Seafood, fresh seafood, an authentic experience, child friendly
