Hello,

I need help with some transportation issues and I hope someone can help me out.

I am flying to Scotland and will arrive at 7:30 the morning of Saturday, October 1. My plan is to stop at the Robert Burns Birthplace and then Culzean Castle on my way to Newtown Stewart. Sunday I want to see the Wigtown Book Festival, but I also want to go back to sleep in Glasgow by Sunday evening. Is there transportation that will get me from Wigtown to Glasgow on Sunday, October 2? I am finding a bus…

I will be in Scotland in the first week of September and was wondering what the odds are of spotting the Northern Lights? I will be in Isle of Skye and don't mind driving further north if I need to but wanted to check. Is there a weather-tracker type website or app that I can use while I am there to try and drive to see them? What is a good place to see them? Any insight is helpful!

Hi,
I'm staying 5 days in the ecovillage Findhorn (Scotland) this month and want to make day trips to the Scottish Highlands, for scenery and short hikes, maybe staying a night over there too. I travel by car. What places should I best visit?
Many thanks :)

Hello!

I will be in Scotland in June 2017 and then heading to Northern Ireland and Donegal. We are wanting to see some sites and will also be somewhat driven by following some family history. Here are my thoughts as it stands now:

Glasgow to Pitlochry
Pitlochry to Glenfinnan
Gelnfinnan to Inverness/Culloden
Inverness/Culloden to Dumfries/Lockerbie
Dumfris/Lockerbie to Cairnryan to catch the ferry to Larne, N. Ireland

We have three weeks total and I was planning a little more time in Scotland than…

Hi,

i'll be next week in Edinburgh for at least 3 months. I was searching for volunteering, some job in exchange for accommodation. Do you know any hostel or anything, where i could sleep in? Even an option sleeping on the floor will be great :)

i'll be very thankful for any advices :)

I have time for only one of these island groups, 3 or 4 days in early September, and from what I have read, really can't decide between them. Which do you prefer, and why?

I will be visiting a grave in Sandymount Cemetery but I cannot find online the hours. Does anyone know how I can find this out, or can someone look this up for me? Or is the cemetery open 24 hours a day?

Thanks!

Hello

Currently planning a trip between Ullapool and Durness, but not sure on the best time to go and nature of the trip.

Would like to camp but that would require driving up from Oxford - a long way to drive alone. Alternatively thought about flying to inverness, hiring a car and staying in B&Bs.

Also unsure on whether to head up in the busy mid-August period or wait until first couple of weeks in September. September could work better as less insects and should be quieter.

Any thoughts or…
