Lonely Planet review for Foyer

A light, airy space filled with blond wood and bold colours, Foyer is an art gallery as well as a restaurant and is run by a charity that works against youth homelessness and unemployment. The seasonal menu is a fusion of Scottish, Mediterranean and Asian influences, with lots of good vegetarian (and gluten- or dairy-free) options. A light lunch menu is available from 11am to 4pm.

    Wonderful

    bobneish recommends this,

Housed in a former church, this much-worshipped restaurant is part of a youth opportunities initiative. So not only do you feel good eating here, you’re doing good to. Such all-round advantageousness suits such a cheerful, contemporary space that doubles as an art gallery where exhibitions by local artists change every six weeks along with the Modern European menu.

I've eaten here numerous times and have had only ONE poor (not bad) starter to complain about - in restaurant terms that's top notch.

Quite an expensive outing so keep it for a special occasion like last night in Aberdeen kinda thing. The menu is changed very often which is a good point which not many restaurants take up. The spacing between tables is excellent giving just enough privacy to make the meal special. Staff are numerous and attentive without 'in your face' attentiveness. The wine list is affordable which some restarants fall down on by making the wine the most expensive part of the meal.

    Highly recommended.
