Jeddah

Hi everybody!

I am going to Jeddah to attend a trade show and will be there 5 days. I have found some info about sights to visit on this forum, thanks very much but would like to know whether there are beaches for women in Jeddah? or should I better look for a hotel with swimming pool for women? We are two females travelling together, would it be a problem to move around?

Thanks very much for your help and have a great weekend!!!

Transit visa for 18+ hour stopover?

Does anyone have any recent news about whether US citizens can get a transit visa if they have a long (18-72 hour) stopover in Saudi Arabia? I know of some Americans who have been able to do this over the last few years, but I have heard that the visas are no longer issued as freely.

I am interested in "forcing" an 18+ hour stopover so that I can see Jeddah or Riyadh for a day, if it is feasible to get a transit visa.

Riyadh

There aren't many posts here about Saudi Arabia (for fairly obvious reasons) but i found this forum helpful when I planned my trip a while back.

I wanted to share to articles that cover some of the off-the-beaten track sights of Riyadh. enjoy!

Travelling transit via Saudia Arabia with Israel stamps in our passports

Hi,

We are thinking of travelling via Dubai or Abu Dhabi (as a transit stop, i.e. we're not leaving the airport) en-route to Delhi but have Israel visitor stamps in our (South African) passports. Does anyone know if there will be any issues?

We are not stopping off in Saudi except to wait in the transit section until the next flight.

Thanks
Stephen

Place to sleep in RUH with Saudia Airlines

I am transiting in RUH (rather, planning to) and would have 16 hours layover, which is enough for some good sleep.
I have a British passport. And my connecting flight will take me home to the UK. It's not a round trip.

I found this info applies to me:
Visa exempt for a stay of up to eight hours. The traveller must:
Hold a passport valid at least six months on entry with one blank visa page
Hold proof of sufficient funds
Hold proof of onward/return airline tickets

Proof of sufficient funds? To go…

14 hrs Layover in Jeddah

Hi

Me & my husband are travelling to UK from India with 14 hrs layover in Jeddah, landing at 11 PM. We are planning to take a transit visa for roaming around the city for 4-5 hrs in the morning hours. Would it be wise and possible to roam around the city for 4 hrs in morning & come back to board the flight which is scheduled at 1:15 PM?
Can we cover Floating Mosque & King Fahd's Fountain in 4 hrs & come back to airport?

We are planning to spend night at Jeddah Airport Lounge. Is…

Postcards in Jeddah

Where would be a good palace to buy and send postcards in Jeddah.

I'm going to be staying at the al badr hotel on the old airport road, but it doesn't look like there are any touristy shops near there.

I don't mind taking a taxi if I have a definite address for a location that sells postcards and hopefully stamps too.

Layover in Jeddah?

Hey everyone,

So I'm a 20 year old white woman from the United States and when I'm returning from my internship, the best flight option seems to be through Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Since I will be traveling by myself, will I be safe? Are there any precautions that I should take? Also, my connecting flight time would only be 1hr 15 mins. Is this sufficient time to get through and what not? Thank you.
