Hey,

I'm Thomas (34, educational trainer) and will be in Rwanda from sep 16th.
Right now my only plan is to stay for a few days in Kigali and go gorilla trekking in the last week of sep - also staying a few days in volcanoes np.
However: I thought about heading to kivu, the east and south in between and after volcanoes.

Is there anyone traveling Rwanda, too?

I am a single female traveller and I will be in Rwanda in early January 2017. I am looking to join a small group tour to see the gorillas. So far I have only been able to find 'personal' tours. I would much prefer the company of other tourists. Does anyone know a company that runs small group tours that I could join? Thanks in anticipation of your responses.

Does anyone have experience hiring a car and driver for a trip to Nyungwe National Park? We (3 people) have been quoted US$300/day for a 3 day trip, so a total of US$900 (I think it is for a Toyota Landcruiser). We only have 3 days in which to see Nyungwe and don't want to waste time on buses, but US$900 seems quite expensive.

Hi,
Can anyone recommend me other options for transportation from the Kigali to Goma or mikeno outside of Virungas website offerings? They're prices are too high. Thanks!

I'm visiting Rwanda in September for 2 and a half weeks. So far I've booked my gorillas permit and my first few days accommodation in Kigali. I'm at the stage now where I'm starting to plan the rest of my trip around the country. My plan is to go to Volcanoes National park from Kigali and then to do a clockwise circuit of the country, taking in Lake Kivu, Butare, Eastern Province and eventually arriving back to Kigali.

What I'm wondering is do I need to book all of my accommodation in advance…

I'm visiting Rwanda in September on my own and travelling independently. I'm already booked a Gorilla Permit for Volcanoes National Park which I plan on doing independently at the beginning of my trip. I would also like to see Akagera National Park without having to go through a tour company. From what I'm read so far this seems to be a little bit more complicated. Has anyone any experience of doing this in the past? Did you have to stay overnight in the park? Did you hire a driver for the day…

Hi

I am thinking of booking a low budget safari to Rwanda, Uganda and Congo with Zozo safaris. A friend of a friend mentioned them to me, but there is virtually no information online or reviews (they have a very basic website www.zozosafaris.com ). Just wondering if anyone has used them or has any suggestions for a good value safari camp?

Thanks

Greetings Thron Tree forum!

My husband and I are traveling to Rwanda for two weeks in November. We are traveling independently and are working on the places we want to see. Right now we are thinking of the following places in a two week timeframe:

Volcanoes National Park
Lake Kivu
Akagera National Park

Is that enough time? Is that too much? We like to take our time and not feel rushed.

Other places that we should see?

Any and all advice is welcome!

Thanks,
JoAnna
