Mid February 2016
Exchange Rate $1 = RWF 740
Transport - public transport - I did not have my own vehicle
Matatu - I paid about 500 per 20 km - no negotiations - I asked the price as I entered - didn't get the impression I was being overcharged Usually there is a price list you can refer to
A very common tactic in Rwanda is to want to charge for a backpack - nobody else pays for luggage believe me!! I always said I wasn't gonna pay and they always backed down!

I was already in possession of an East African Visa
Next day I headed to the border which is only 10km away - 5k on a boda
I changed up my last Ugandan schillings on the Ugandan side - there are plenty on both sides - their rate was 5000 UGX to 1000 RWF which if your changing a small amount is fine (bank rate was 5000 to 1050)

LP mentions a church-run hotel and Auberge de Gisenyi. Searching online I also found Discover Rwanda Gisenyi and maybe a place called Hakuna Matata Backpackers.

The plan is to take a bus from Kibuye via Gitarama to Huye. Can this be done in one day? After staying the night in Huye, we want to leave Huye in the afternoon to go to Uwinka. Does anyone know what time the latest bus leaves from Huye?
For the way back from Uwinka to Kigali, is it…

The Idea is I'll be entering Rwanda on 16th of September, and leaving on the 26th (+/- 1 day) to Nairobi. I wanna see some of the Volcanoes (I thought about climbing Bisoke, as it seems the one most affordable, and visiting the remains of Karisoke RC), want to go at least for a day to…
