Hi all I am considering a flight to Tanzania (from London) that has about an 11 hour layover in Kigali (arrive early AM and leave early evening) and would like to head into the city. Feasible? Also how to get a taxi driver they won't rip us off?!
I'm on a last minute trip to Africa this weekend, and have an overnight layover in Kigali on Monday. I land around 8pm, then flying out at noon on Tuesday, so only a short stop.
I've been to Kigali before so won't be attempting any sightseeing. However, I was hoping to grab a beer in the evening, then have a bit of a walk in the morning before heading to the airport.
I think I'm going to stay in an Airbnb to save money (unless there's a good hotel for ~$50 or less), so basically I'm…
I haven't found a satisfactory answer to this anywhere online, on the Rwandan govt website, or on the TT. When applying online for the EATV, there is a space to submit an invitation letter. What is this, and do I need it? Should I leave it empty, or should I include a hotel reservation or an airline ticket? Very confused.

I am 65 and will be going to Rwanda for a gorilla trek and to take a safari in Tanzania in June. I have lots of questions about conflicting information I have read about the risk of yellow fever in these countries, whether or not authorities check for proof of vaccination and whether a letter of exemption (due to age over 65) is accepted. Does a letter of exemption need to be from a doctor specializing in travel, or can it be from a primary care doctor?
The only reference I have seen saying…

Hi guys, I'm an amateur wildlife photographer, interested in traveling and exploring Africa. I have been thinking about Rwanda, because it is an amazing location for seeing mountain gorillas. I don't want to contribute to any businesses that promote tourism that isn't eco-friendly, however. I want to photograph gorillas, but I don't want to disturb any of them in the process. So I'm looking for a tourism company that has a focus on photography and also respects the Earth and all wildlife, which…
