Hi all and thanks in advance for any offers of help-
We are planning a trip to travel in Rwanda and Uganda this May/June and are very interested in seeing the gorillas in Parc National de Volcans-and have a few questions for those who have done this trek-
We are planning on coming from Queen Elizabeth Park in Uganda and would rather not go all the way to Kigali and then come back north to Kinigi-what would be the best way to get from QE to Kinigi or Musanze?
From the posts i have heard great…
Hello all. I am posting this in the Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda sections...I just obtained my east african visa at the Kenya consulate in Zimbabwe. It was only the second visa of this kind they have issued so i want to check a couple things....
Online I read that the visa must be obtained from the consulate of the county u will first be entering. In my case I planned to enter Kenya first hence the Kenya consulate. Looking at the visa in my passport there is nothing stating which consulate…
Dear fellow travellers,
my girlfriend and I will be travelling in Rwanda for about 2,5 weeks, starting next week. We are on a tight budget and will be backpacking and keeping costs as low as possible. Now I was a little shocked when I saw the prices of the well-known tourist activities...
Don't get me wrong, I don't need to see the gorillas (for sure not when it costs me 750$), but I would like to do SOMETHING which is free after all. Do you have some useful suggestions for that?
I had a one night stop-over in Kigali (on my second visit by bus through the city), and would like to mention one thing. I had my Lonely Planet book, and was almost going to stay at one of their recommendations. Then I found a guest house 100 meters away from the main bus station, called Hope. It cost 9-10 USD a night, with basic rooms. But if you have an early departure by bus, or want an ok budget option for accomodation, this is a good choice. Unfortunately I don't have more specific…
I am planning a trip to Rwanda in July next year to see the gorillas in Volcanoe Park. I want to do the trip DIY as can't afford a tour group price. There will be two of us and the prices are huge.
Can anyone recommend the best way to get from Kigali to the volcanoe park, staying at a place that is easy to get to the place to do the trek?
Also, when you buy the entry park visa ($750) how many days does this grant entry for or do you specify that when you apply?
As of 1 November 2014 there is now a visa fee for US Citizens of $30 - previously it was free.
So, now getting the East African Tourist Visa makes sense if you also visit Uganda and come in and out of Rwanda.

We arrive in Kigali airport at around 1am and need to be in Kisoro by 08.00. Any reputable taxis that we can book and how much? There are 2 of us and we need to go through the border and they come with us...
Hello from Canada.
Does anyone have any "up-to-date" info about obtaining visa for rwanda so we can spend time with the gorillas. I have read the info on the threads and explored the internet, but I must be slow because I find it confusing. We would prefer if possible to obtain the visa before we leave canada in February for the gorllas and safari in Tanzania.
Thank you in advance.
