We're visiting St Petersburg next week for only have 4 days, so want to save as much time as possible. What's the quickest form of transport from the airport to the city center? Can anyone recommend how to book a taxi?

How to get the travel guide of Vladivostok in English

I'm gonna spend the spare time in Vladivostok during the coming April.
Of course, I can not even read any kind of letter written by Russian. furthermore first visit to there.
Could you plz. let me know how to get the travel guide, brochure, what have you of there in English Version?

suddenly problems with payment on rzd?

hi,

i have a german visa card with which i already booked tickets on rzd without any problems three times. now i wanted to book again, but this time i always receive an error called "system pos error", and the payment is declined. my bank says the request doesn't even reach them. do you think this is just a temporary error on the website, or do they suddenly reject my card?

Looking for recent experience about applying for a private visa, preferably applying in China as foreigner

Hello community,

I am planning to travel through Russia overland from China >> Vladivostok to St. Petersburg >> Estonia. Since it's not clear when I will enter the country, I want to apply for my visa in China (Beijing/Shanghai). Furthermore I think 30 days will be on the edge of doable so I am looking for options to stay in Russia for longer. My local Russian Visa Centre wrote to me that a private visa might be an option.

Buying trans-siberian ticket: how to choose a seat that faces forward

I'm planning to go for the trans-siberian railway from Vladivostok to Irkutsk in September and want to book the train 001, 1st or 2nd class, through http://eng.rzd.ru. I am not sure how to choose a seat so that I'll be facing forward during the ride. Your advice should be appreciated.

We are planning to visit Valaam in August this year and are thinking of making a trip to Valaam.

Could someone tell me if it is possible to do it as a day trip? If yes, any companies that offer this service?
