Lonely Planet review

The salmon pink exterior of the 1840s Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace provides a photogenic backdrop to Anichkov most. The palace was formerly a home of Communist Party officials, and now continues to serve in various official capacities.

It is normally closed to the public, although tours of the opulent interior can be arranged and occasional concerts are held in the oak-panelled concert hall.

The 1st floor holds the small Anatoly Sobchak Museum on the Establishment of Democracy, which might be interesting for its coverage of recent history.
