Lonely Planet review
One of the world’s most iconic hotels, the Grand Hotel Europe lives up to its name. Since 1830, when Carlo Rossi united three adjacent buildings with the grandiose facade we see today, little has been allowed to change in this heritage building. No two rooms are the same, but most are spacious and elegant in design. The junior suites are particularly lovely with original patterned parquet floors and smatterings of antiques. Regular guests quite rightly swear by the terrace rooms that afford spectacular views across the city’s rooftops.
