Souvenir shopping in Russia

  1. A

    Ivan Tsarevich

One of many souvenir shops on the Arbat, with little to choose between them. This touristy area is probably not the best place to buy souvenirs, as prices are high and bargaining is non-existent. But the selection is decent, in case you don't have time to go out to Izmailovsky Park.

  2. Gift Shop

Rostov is an arts-and-crafts centre, so don’t leave without stopping at the gift shop in the kremlin to shop for finift (enamel) souvenirs and to sample the home-brewed medovukha (mead).

Inside the Artillery Museum, this is a must for model plane, train and automobile fans. There’s a huge range of mainly Russian models in stock and the staff is extremely helpful.

  5. D

    Souvenir Market

There’s a well-stocked souvenir market diagonally across the canal from the Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood. A certain amount of bartering is perfectly acceptable.
