Occupying the old boathouse overlooking Patriarch’s Ponds, this place is hard to beat for atmosphere. The pavilion dates from the 19th century, but the interior has has a ‘high Soviet’ design and a menu to match. All the old favourites are here, exquisitely prepared, and sometimes with a surprising twist. The samogon (home-brewed vodka) is highly recommended.
