Lonely Planet review for Shafran

While ethnic restaurants in Moscow tend to be overdone, Shafran is understated and sophisticated. Strewn with colourful pillows, it is otherwise simply decorated. Arabic music wafts through the air, but does not obstruct conversation. The menu includes a wide range of hot and cold meze (small plates), as well as a selection of kebabs, all expertly prepared and perfect for sharing.

    Belly dancing anyone?

    kbirdsall recommends this,

As good Middle Eastern food is hard to find in Moscow, this place is quite a delight. The meze plates are great for sharing, so this is a wonderful place to bring parties and groups. The owners are Russian, so don't expect the food to be as spicy or as tasty as in Lebanon, but it's still quite good. There is a belly dancer from Thursday thru Saturday, who adds additional entertainment, but doesn't go on too long to distract from the meal. The only downside here is the service, which is incredibly slow and often rude.
