  1. A

    Loft Café

On the top floor of the Nautilus shopping centre, next door to the luxury spa, you’ll find this tiny, trendy café. An even smaller terrace gives a fantastic view of Lubyanka pl. Innovative, modern dishes fuse the best of Russian cuisine with Western and Asian influences – for example, grilled salmon with spinach, pine nuts and caviar sauce.

The menu brings together all corners of the world, offering Asian-style noodles, handmade pasta and risotto, seafood and grills. Save room for one of the delightful, delectable desserts. 3. C

    Pavilion

Occupying the old boathouse overlooking Patriarch’s Ponds, it’s hard to beat this place for atmosphere. While the pavilion dates from the 19th century, the interior is chic and contemporary – a good match for the menu, which attempts to update the Russian classics. Go for one of the rich, creamy soups served with dark peasant bread baked on the premises.

    Botanika

Rare is it to find a restaurant in Moscow that is both fashionable and affordable. Somehow Botanika manages to be both. It offers light, modern fare, with plenty of soups, salads and grills. Wood furniture and subtle floral prints complement the garden-themed decor, all of which makes for an enjoyable, all-natural eating experience.
