Volkonsky Keyser
Good for: overpriced dry bread
Not good for: value
Lonely Planet review for Volkonsky Keyser
The queue often runs out the door, as loyal patrons wait their turn for the city’s best fresh-baked breads, pastries and pies. It’s worth the wait, especially if you decide on a fruit-filled croissant or to-die-for olive bread. Choose something sweet or savoury from the glass case, then head next door to the big wooden tables for large bowls of coffee or tea. There is another outlet in Basmanny.

overpriced and overated
kwadratic does not recommend this,
April 2010 - again one asks who wrote the LP post??? It's and average bakery by western standards selling insanely overpriced goods ( large loaf up to US$15) of unreliable standards, could be dry could be hard. Tired of listening to staff who know no difference trying to condescendingly instruct how bread should feel and taste! There are now many bakeries all around the city, there is nothing notable about this group of shops/cafes.
