Central Târgu Mureş is small enough to cover by foot. Bus 18 (€0.45) goes from the stop at Piaţa Teatrul and Piaţa Trandafirilor to the bus station; bus 5 goes to the train station. At research time no buses went to the airport; a taxi is about €6 or €7.

Eurolines (306 126; Str Călăraşilor 38; 9am-8pm Mon-Fri, to 4pm Sat) rents Dacia Logans from €43 per day.
