Lonely Planet review for Casa Româneasca
Deep in the Schei district, away from trolling tourists, this casa serves tasty sarmalute cu mamaliguta (boiled beef rolled with vegetables and cabbage) and a very meaty 'rustic tray' grab-bag. Live music adds to or subtracts from the experience, based on your taste.

An affair of the stomach.........
becinbris recommends this,
Ah, Casa Romaneasca, how devout we are!!
We happened upon you one night by chance. Tired and wet, we dragged ourselves through your front door and set up camp in your log cabin-esque interior. Under the fixed gaze of a perfectly taxidermied wild pig, we shamelessly tucked into plates of sausages and pork. Any guilt we may have had was washed away with a few bottles of Ursus Brun.
And so began our four day infatuation with your pork grill, your country chicken soup and your chicken schnitzel. Even the Irish amongst us were enamoured with your plate of sausages, cabbage and potatoes.
We tried to go somewhere else, honestly we did. Even the absence of your much anticipated cheese and raisin pie wasn't enough to deter us. Perhaps we felt an obligation to the managerie of animals adorning your walls to dine one night with each of them.
Alas, Casa, the time came for us to part. Sad as it was, we left with the comfort of knowing that when we should each next see a set of deer antlers, the inside of a log cabin or a bottle of Ursus Brun, we shall think of you.
