Lonely Planet review for Trattoria Il Calcio

Run by 'Romania's George Best' (football legend Gino Lorgucescu), this pasta/pizza place looks Tuscan, if not for the framed Futbol journals from the 1960s on the walls. The food's great, with hearty meals and good salads. It gets busy at lunch.

    Excellent food, a bit crowded space

    masi recommends this,

    This restaurant has excellent italian food, ranging from pizza, pasta to all the meats, and is superbly located in Bucharest's central area. The only downside to this is that it tends to get really crowded during lunch and dinner, and the tables are a bit closer to one another than one would wish.

    But the great food is all worth it, and the great location (about 100 meters from the metro station) leaves you with no excuse not to try it.

    P.S. Regarding the LP review - he is not 'Gino Lorgucescu', but Gino Iorgulescu.
