Lonely Planet review for La Mama
Mama knows what she's doing. This converted villa, with a sprawling covered deck that's filled to all hours, dates from the late 19th century, and deserves its many fans, thanks to the very tasty, meat-heavy options. Sheep pastrami with polenta is a winner, but the roasted pork neck with country-style potatoes is unbeatable.

A visit to La Mama...
basilu does not recommend this,
There are 6 La Mama`s in Bucharest and the bigegst one is close to Atheneum Square and to Athenee Palace Hilton. Their webpage is not working for the moment. It seems that cooking and creating webpages doesn`t go to well together.Talking about food this is a place to go in case you are extremly hungry looking forward to discover the tasty triple soup and the delicios "sarmale". Be aware of the cholesterol as the Romanian tradition cuisine uses many fats. The good news is that you can find some healthy food too, like salads and grills. The plus of this La mama is the location but the place is a little bit noisy as the restaurant si full of customers. There are so many that is almost impossible to hear the music when they have one. Still La mama is a place where you can go by yourself to taste the Romanian cuisine. However if you want to gave a romantic dinner this is not the right place. As for the price, expect to pay around 10 E for a two course meal. "Pofta buna!"
