Lonely Planet review for Bistro Vilacrosse

This bistro borrows its style heavily from Parisian side-streets, with sepia tones of Bucharest's most Parisian-influenced buildings, wooden floors and gingham tablecloths. Settle into a seat and escape the city heat and/or crowds in this glass-domed passage while sipping fresh coffee and eating a wine-splattered Transylvania pork filet on a bed of (French!) fries and roasted cabbage.

Of all things, the toilet entrance is a red (English!) telephone booth. It has a few vegetarian options, and a bottle of wine costs around €8.30.

Lonley Planet - update your advice please!

    teflchick does not recommend this,

We chose this restaurant for dinner based soley on the very favourable review in Lonley Planet. All I can say is how terribly disappointing. Whilst one quickly becomes accoustomed to being ripped off in this most challenging of cities, paying over the odds for a dry pork chop served with frozed oven chips was still not an experience to be repeated. What I had hoped would be a stylish evening in one of "Little Paris'" charming backwaters was instead one more deeply frustrating & disappointing evening to be added to the notches of an already heavily laden bedpost of Bucurestian frustration.
