Lonely Planet review
A lovely secluded little hideaway along the South Coast, offering 10 luxurious thatched villas tranquilly set among lush gardens and lily ponds. The tastefully understated interiors and grand spa baths cater to an unashamedly upmarket clientele, but if you can afford the hefty price-tag, Takitumu is hard to top in terms of style and service.
It's a particularly popular place with honeymooners, and it's not too difficult to see why. A meandering path wanders through the palm-shaded gardens, passing a beautiful oval pool en route to the villas and the virtually private beachfront. The nicest (and priciest) bungalow is literally right on the sand, but the other garden villas have plenty of privacy too and are surrounded by blooming shrubs, fragrant blossoms and the odd fish-filled pool. Inside, the villas are just as good-looking - muted shades and minimal clutter conjure a delightful atmosphere of rest and repose. You'll find it especially hard to drag yourself away from the gleaming bathrooms (complete with glass-bricked walls and Jacuzzi tubs). Expect a few surprise treats during your stay, from champagne cocktails to sunset buffets - the staff bend over backwards to make you happy.

Location. Royale Takitumu Villas is located on the beach in Rarotonga's Titikaveka neighborhood, close to Tikioki Marine Sanctuary and Muri Beach. Other points of interest are Puaikura Beach and National Museum of the Cook Islands.
Resort Features. Recreational amenities include an outdoor pool and a spa tub. The resort serves breakfast each morning in the room (surcharges apply). For a surcharge, the property offers a roundtrip airport shuttle (available on request). Self parking is complimentary. Wedding services, tour/ticket assistance, and tour assistance are available. Additional property amenities include a library, barbecue grills, and a grocery/convenience store.
Guestrooms. 12 air-conditioned guestrooms at Royale Takitumu Villas feature CD players and coffee/tea makers. Furnished balconies or patios offer ocean, sea, or water views. Beds come with signature bedding. In addition to separate dining areas, these individually furnished and decorated rooms include desks. At this 4-star resort, accommodations include kitchens with full-sized refrigerators/freezers, stovetops, microwaves, and cookware/dishes/utensils. Bathrooms feature separate bathtubs and showers with jetted bathtubs and handheld showerheads. They also offer bidets, makeup/shaving mirrors, and bathrobes.
