Lonely Planet review
There's certainly no shortage of pricey picturesque thatch-topped bungalows on Rarotonga, but these beachside lodges are something quite special, opting for traditional construction materials throughout rather than the more contemporary interiors you'll find at many of the larger resorts.
There's an authentic Polynesian atmosphere inside the bungalows themselves, conjured by the elegant interior layout and tasteful use of split-bamboo walls, native woods, teak decking furniture and traditional Cook Islands design motifs (look out for canoe paddles and traditional carvings on the walls). The units are split between open-plan kitchen-diners and cosy sleeping areas, with an ensuite bathroom complete with a 'garden shower' stall decorated with original artwork and potted plants; and of course the essential wooden sundeck and holiday-brochure views. The bungalows are certainly on the expensive side, and they might even be a little overpriced for the space they offer, but ask nicely and you might be able to get a deal on a week's stay or more.

Location. Rarotonga Beach Bungalows is located close to Tikioki Marine Sanctuary and Muri Beach. Other points of interest are National Museum of the Cook Islands and Cook Island Christian Church.
Resort Features. Rarotonga Beach Bungalows features a restaurant and a bar/lounge. The resort serves a complimentary continental breakfast each morning in the lounge. Complimentary high-speed (wired) Internet access is available in public areas and the resort has a computer station. For a surcharge, the property offers a roundtrip airport shuttle (available 24 hours). Self parking is complimentary. Additional property amenities include gift shops/newsstands, laundry facilities, and a picnic area.
