We're headed to Puerto Rico over Thanksgiving week and are leaning towards spending a few days on Vieques, or possibly Culebra.
Are there any great places to stay on the beach where there's decent snorkeling right there? Bonus points if there are hammocks or other comfy, shady spots to relax, read a book, and listen to the waves.
Definitely up for doing some trips out to better snorkeling beaches, but having it as an option right where we're staying is a huge bonus.
I will be visiting Puerto Rico during the week of Thanksgiving. Does anyone have suggestions on what will be open on Thanksgiving day and what sightseeing will be open that day? How can I spend Thanksgiving day in Puerto Rico?
Thanks in advance.
We'd like to stay in a 2 bedroom place (my in-laws are coming as well). And I wanted to know what the best area and or hotel is to stay in in PR if we're going with our 20 month old baby. We want her to have fun as we dont vacation often but also dont want to end up spending more than $400/night for a 2 bedroom. There looks to be a bunch of air BnB places in Rio Mar. Thoughts on staying there? We'll be there for 10 days over xmas and nye.
Thanks so much guys..
My wife and I went to Puerto Rico for a week in 2006 which included a trip to Vieques' biobay. It was probably the most amazing experience I've had while traveling. We're going back to PR for 5 nights, 4 days in October and plan to visit San Juan, El Yunque, and spend one night on Vieques. However, I just found out that while kayaking in Vieques' biobay still happens, swimming is prohibited since an August 2011 shark attack. Can one swim in the biobays at La Parguera and Laguna Grande (Fajardo)?…
I'll be spending 10 wonderful days in Puerto Rico, starting August 4th. Which of these do you think need to be booked in advance? See below:
Bio Bay trip to Vieques
Cave exploring in either Rio Camuy or Cueva Ventana
Hi all. Just booked a flight to PR next month for a week. Looking to do some snorkelling(maybe a dive or two)and eating some great food. I would like to know of some beaches where I could stay and maybe have a few options(ie different reefs) for some snorkeling from the beach to avoid chartering boat$.
The overall plan is to choose 2 spots for the whole trip and chill 2-3 days in each one rather than run all over trying to see the whole island in a week.
I just called Cape Air and found out…
Topic is self explanatory, and perhaps a little naive. We are experienced travellers to other parts of the world but not the USA.
We are Australian passport holders with tickets from San Francisco to San Juan, Puerto Rico with United Airline (single flight number UA994, transit in Newark, NY)
Wondering of this is considered an international flight where we have to be at SFO 3 to 4 hours before, or a domestic flight where 1 hour at SFO airport will suffice?
With the single flight number we assume…
Alright alright, no judging.... I'll be in San Juan for 10 hours on a cruise stop from noon to 10pm. I'm looking for a non touristy restaurant/bar combo where my wife and I can go have a good time away from all the other cruisers. We don't mind taking a taxi at all but obviously the closer to the port the better!
Any other suggestions besides food that might make for a nice day stop?
Does anyone know if there is a public bus from San Juan to Boqueron and where I can find timetables? I'm am flying to Aguadilla/Boqueron in August and was planning to stay there. However I now have to go visit a family friend in San Juan for a few days and need to find a way to get there. I can't rent a car as I don't have a license at the moment and will be on my own, so I need to take public transportation. Does anyone know the names of local bus companies? When I try to look up travel between…
