Hello, I am a female traveling alone from PA to Puerto Rico for about 5 days. I'm looking to travel in the end of this month from February 21-March 1. I am on a tight budget, but I would really like to take a tour of the rain forest and spend some days looking into Art, culture and beaches. My family of four (including two teenagers) has decided to cash in our frequent flyer miles and spend the February school vacation (Feb 15 to 22) in Puerto Rico. Hello any suggestions on a budget friendly place to stay in La Parguera/Lajas? Going to be taking advantage of the snorkeling and bio bays here so something closet to water, private room for under $50 per night?
I'll be flying in PR feb 4-10 and spending part of the time in SJ and most in Vieques. Does anyone have any good recommendations for fun, off the beaten touristy path, activities?

I read somewhere on the internet that the roads are not all maintained in Puerto Rico and you may want to think twice about renting a car there depending on what route you would drive.
