Hotel La Playa
Lonely Planet review
Yes, you can stay oceanfront in Isla Verde without breaking the bank. New owners have tinkered under the hood of this 15-room Isla Verde stalwart, quietly constructing a lean, green machine. The new incarnation sports solar hot water heaters, low-power air-con units and a 2000-gallon water catchment system, and its sustainably sourced restaurant recycles its cooking oil for biodiesel. Pretty rooms have new furniture and tasteful Caribbean decor.
Our independent authors have visited Hotel La Playa and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in San Juan.
