Lonely Planet goes mobile with city guide for Nokia's new 3650 phone

FEBRUARY 27, 2003 | LONDON, UK
Lonely Planet and Nokia have joined forces to provide the perfect union of cutting edge technology and travel information with a new mobile travel guide to over 40 cities across the globe.

Top tips on what to see, where to eat, drink, sleep and shop, from Stockholm to Venice to Athens, straight to the handset. With Lonely Planet's city expertise on your mobile, you won't miss a thing, whether you're a local or tourist.

Fully utilizing the rich colour screen of the Nokia 3650 XHTML browser, the guide's graphics and images further enhance the visual experience. Points of interest are easy to navigate and include reviews, addresses, price ranges and contact numbers that are automatically selected for dialing.

"Nokia is happy to see a leading travel company like Lonely Planet expand their offering to mobile phone users. The interactive travel guide is an ideal tool for mobile travellers," said Christian From, Senior Marketing Manager, Nokia Mobile Phones.

"The opportunity of working with the innovative new Nokia 3650 mobile phone has allowed us to continue to provide rich, practical information to travellers where and when they need it," said Lonely Planet's Business Development Manager, Nathan Clapton.

The new site can be viewed from an XHTML browser at: http://mobile.lonelyplanet.com
