It was announced recently that Hiking in the Sierra Nevada by John Mock and Kimberley O'Neil won the 2002 National Outdoor Book Award (NOBA) for Adventure Guidebooks. The announcement was made at the International Conference on Outdoor Recreation and Education held in Charleston, SC, America.

Stan Armington received this prestigious award on 15 April 2002 during a special luncheon at the 51st PATA Annual Conference in New Delhi, India.
