About Lonely Planet Americas
The Lonely Planet Americas office oversees Lonely Planet’s operations in North and Latin America. An office of around 50 employees handle the marketing, sales, client solutions, business development and publishing for the region. Lonely Planet’s mobile team is also based out of the Americas office. Lonely Planet Americas is located in Oakland, California.
About Lonely Planet UK
Lonely Planet UK was set up in 1991 to expand on and create new opportunities in the UK and European markets. For seven years the office concentrated on sales, marketing, publicity and promotions in these markets until 1998 when they set up a publishing unit. The UK office now comissions all country and regional guides to Europe and has 50 employees. The office recently moved from Clerkenwell to City Road, London.
About Lonely Planet Asia-Pacific
Lonely Planet’s Melbourne office is the base for the global management and planning team. With over 320 staff, including editors, designers, and cartographers. The majority of titles are published in Melbourne, which also has responsibility for sales, marketing and distribution in the Australia, Asia and Pacific region. Associated business divisions, such as Lonely Planet Television and Lonely Planet Images are based here.
