Published This Month: Lonely Planet’s Special 40th Anniversary Collector’s Editions
- 11 June 2013
Lonely Planet, the world’s most successful travel publisher, is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year with three specially commissioned limited edition retro covers for its London, New York City and Paris guidebooks.
Created by Sydney artist Stuart McLachlan to evoke the feel of 1960s airline travel posters, the Special Collector’s Edition covers are released exclusively in Australia and New Zealand this month, with a box set of all three titles to follow in October.
Stuart McLachlan began his career as an illustrator in Adelaide after completing a degree in Illustration and Graphic Design. His illustration has allowed him to live and work in Melbourne, Amsterdam, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and now Sydney. His work has been published globally, winning many awards in the advertising field and has appeared in magazines such as The Economist, The New Yorker and Newsweek.
