Publishing Manager of World Food and Out to Eat, Peter D’Onghia, said these awards were testimony to the great work being done by all the authors, photographers, editors and designers in Lonely Planet Food’s publishing division.
‘Out to Eat Sydney 2001 scooped the pool in the face of some tough, global competition. This award is a real credit to the Out to Eat team who bring in-depth cuisine knowledge, restaurant industry experience and intimacy with Sydney to each review,’ he said.
‘World Food New Orleans is a shining example of Lonely Planet’s approach to food writing, combining creole, cajun and soul in a comprehensive guide to the cuisines of America’s Deep South. The 13 part World Food series boasts evocative imagery, maps, recipes plus culinary and cultural insights in a pocket-sized format – it’s one of a kind,’ he added.
