Land
Bus
Long-distance expresso buses operate from the new, centralised bus station, which is now just across the tracks from the train station.
AV Minho (258 800 341) runs a line from Porto (€5.50, 2¼ hours) four times during the week, passing through Esposende (€2.40, 45 minutes) and on to Valença (€3.20, 1¼ hours) and Monção (€3.60, 1½ hours). Service drops to one or two runs on weekends.
Transdev Norte (253 209 410) has at least eight weekday and four weekend runs to Braga (€3.60, 1½ hours).
AV Cura/Transcolvia (258 800 340) runs up the Lima valley to Ponte de Lima (€2.60, 50 minutes), Ponte da Barca (€3.30, 1½ hours) and Arcos de Valdevez (€3.50, 1½ hours) at least hourly weekdays (fewer at weekends).
Train
Daily direct services from Porto include three IR/international trains (€6.80, 1½ hours) and five regional services (€6.40, 1¾ hours). For Braga (€3.80, from 1½ hours, 12 daily), change at Nine. There are also at least eight daily trains to Valença (€2.80, 45 minutes to one hour) during the week.
