We are visiting the south of Portugal for a few days in mid-July. So far, our itinerary is:
Day 1 - Arrive in Faro from Seville, time to head on somewhere
Day 2 - Beach
Day 3 - Beach
Day 4 - Beach
Day 5 - Beach
Day 6 - Fly home from Faro (10.40 flight)
We might rent a car, but may be reliant on public transport. We want a beach that is not too busy with party people, and not too many kids either. Preferably somewhere popular with locals.
Ideally we would be able to stay in nice budget…
I am planning on looking for a rental for 3 months in Portugal & zeroed in on Cascais/Estoril(haven't decided which one) due to many factors that are important to me. (They are coastal cities, good winter climate & a train ride to Lisbon.). I am 55 & want to find a safe community, with a mix of ex-Pats & locals. I don't speak Portuguese, but will happily learn the language. My questions are for Caiscais/Estoril
1. Is public transport available, as I will not have a car?
2. Costs of eating…
We are going til lisbon five days at the end of this week, and the weather forecarst is looking very nice:)
Do anyone know a family friendly outdoor pool they can recomend? We are traveling with three kids age 5, 8,11.
We are going to the sea for 4 days afterwards so dont want to travel too far for a dip in Lisabon:)
Thanks al lot:)
Me and a mate is going for a roadtrip in the middle of July in north of Spain, and down the coast of Portugal. Any nice spots we must hit? we are looking for nice beaches for surfing and nice chicks.
Cheap places to stay etc. any info would help, thanks :)
I´m trying to buy a train ticket Porto - Lisbon for travel in 4 weeks´ time. In the Comboios page, the fare is listed as Price 1st/2nd €42,40/€30,30, Special offer 1st/2nd €25,50/€18,50. Of course I want to buy the special offer at /€18,50. But as I was filling in the required fields for purchase, the price came up as €30,30. Have I missed something?
Does anyone know what the specific annual or monthly requirements when proving "financial sustainability"? It is referenced in the requirements for applying and being granted a Type 1 Visa but never gives the specific dollar amount.
Also, where would your reside if you had your choice of cities?
I'm thinking of flying to Porto and fly back home from Lisbon. Or vice versa, depending on the flight prices :).
I have 2 weeks (Dec 8 - 23)... What should I see along the way...
Have read many information and all seems good...
Any kind soul to give some advise.
I cant drive so I rely on public transport...
I am planning a mid-September 2017 holiday for the two of us, 60s but active, carry-on luggage only. We fly from Sydney to London then to Portugal for 10-14 days. The Portugal part of the itinerary is based on a Rick Steve's itinerary suggestion so that is semi-stable at this stage. The option of flying either to Porto or Lisbon from London is however open. Any advice on that is welcome.
The main question at this early stage of planning revolves around travel connections to/from Portugal and…
I'm new to the forum and looking for some advice. My girlfriend and I are planning on doing a backpacking trip to Portugal during June and July. I'm a little bit experienced with traveling, as I've been to Spain and Iceland before, and I've done an extensive road trip around the U.S. (We're from Connecticut, USA). But these were generally planned in detail (the two European trips were for university) so I don't have a lot of experience with a looser, backpacker style of traveling. We…
