We hole to go to Portugal in about ten days and have no plans. We have three main questions:
Any recommendations for cheap flights for London to Lisbon?
Which neighborhood in Lisbon is a good home base to explore the city? We prefer a non tourist, more residential area with good public transportation.
We would like to find a quiet beach or mountain town to stay for at least a week. We have heard the Algarve is crowded. We need some places to eat, hike, rest and read a book. We like to buy…

And I did get a schegan visa from Portugal embassy.tat was the actual plan.I did have a confirmed ticket to Portugal as well. Hello! We are two girls planning to go to Madeira this agoust. We would like to know how much is life there, food, hostels and renting a car too. We are travelling on a low budget so we would like first of all see if Madeira can be affordable. More or less could u tell us if it is expensive or not?
Also we would appreciate very much to have some tips about which places to see on a 10 days stay. We love nature, trekking specially! And little villages and authentic places. Thank u so so much!
Mostly new to world travel. Want to "live" in one place for three months, then another country for a chunk of time. Where should I look to live in Portugal for three months, on a simple budget? (I don't know where to start researching.) Would do 2-day trips to other parts of the country. Not interested in "night life." Looking for beauty, peace, simplicity, people, local color.
I'm planning a 12 day trip to Europe in early October. I'll be spending the majority of the time in London and Northern Ireland, but am hoping to spend 4 days in Portugal with three friends. We will be flying to Portugal from either Dublin or Belfast.
We are trying to decide between spending the 4 days in Lisbon or Faro. There are no direct flights to Lisbon from Belfast (the more convenient airport for us to fly out of), but there are direct flights to Faro. Dublin has direct flights…
We're wanting to travel from Oporto across the border to Salamanca in Spain. On the map it looks as if it should be simple, maybe a train via Coimbra, but I've heard stories that it takes an extraordinarily long time and involves very awkward arrival times.
Can anyone recommend an easy way to make this journey? We're open to train, plane or bus.
Many thanks for any advice.
Hi, we're planning to go to portugal this coming september. We are heading first to lisbon for 2 nights then to algarve. I read a lot about different towns in algarve. I'm really lost right now. I liked lagos since it has beautiful beaches. On the other hand, we want to be close to a lively town. We enjoy town walks and nice restaurants. Albufeira seemed an option as well since its a lively town
What are the musts in algarve or in portugal in general? we can have 3 days in algarve (lagos or any…
We are trying to decide between two places (and two places to stay) in the Algarve.

Or Luz - and Oasis Beach Apartments
Any advice appreciated!
Hi all -
We are a family of four (kids aged 4 and 1) visiting Portugal for the first time in August. Very excited indeed but need help creating an itinerary that is kid friendly.
We are arriving and departing from Lisbon August 18 - September 2.
Our current thinking is to stay in Lisbon two days upon arriving, then getting an apartment in Cascais for the remaining 13 nights and doing day trips from there.
I wouldn't typically stay in one place for so long but seems more relaxing with the…
Simple question please - I'll be spending a week in Sintra in July (work) and would really like to enjoy some beach time.
I'll probably go to Praia da Adraga and Praia da Ursa (I'm a mountain climber - no problem), however I keep hearing from Lisbon people these beaches are very windy which makes sunbathing somewhat uncomfortable or even chilly (in July?!). Can anyone who knows these beaches well advise please?
And if ok by day, would they be chilly in the evenings? I'd like to stay watch…
