Café Saudade information
This former bakery, where Sintra’s famous queijadas (mini-cheesecakes in a crispy pastry shell) were made, has cherub-covered ceilings and a rambling interior. It's a fine spot for pastries (the massive scones are a travel highlight in the making) or lighter fare (with a changing soup, salad, fish and meat dish of the day) or an evening glass of wine.
A gallery in back features changing art exhibitions. It also runs a refined guesthouse , Chalet Saudade, nearby.
