Lonely Planet review for Alfaia
This cosy spot serves tapas, sandwiches and hearty Portuguese fare, though port is the main event here. Grab a seat at one of the peaceful outdoor tables for premium imbibing.

Avoid Alfaia at all cost
tuftsgirl does not recommend this,
We went into this restaurant. The front room smelled bad so we asked to be moved to the back. The tablecloth had stains on it and the menus given to us were plastic with pictures. We officially knew we were in a tourist trap when they plopped 40 euros of bread and meat and cheese and olives in front of us and, after inquiring and tasting some of it, were informed that we would be paying for each of these should we touch it. We were pressured to order wine and did so, along with water. We decided to leave and paid 27 euros for the bits of bread and meat we ate and the wine and water. We stayed to finish our wine but a minute later the owner, a large woman, comes out of nowhere, and YELLS at us to leave immediately. She even ordered a waiter to get physical with us, and we are all three young women. She kept on screaming that this wasn't a hotel and to get out NOW!! She was a woman possessed. All of this happened within ten minutes. We were mortified to say the least. Avoid this place at all cost. It was absolutely traumatizing.
