Tour description provided by Viator

Enjoy time away from Lisbon on a small-group day trip to Arrabida and Sesimbra. Enjoy a drive along the Vasco da Gama Bridge, the longest in Europe. Visit Palmela Castle, then sample four wines at a local winery. Enjoy free time at Portinho da Arrabida Beach and in the fishing village of Sesimbra, and visit Arrabida Natural Park where you can soak in spectacular views of the Atlantic. Relax as you sample two local wines at Casa Museu Jose Maria da Fonseca, one of the oldest wine-producers in Portugal, before heading to Cristo-Rei Sanctuary to admire Lisbon from a distance.

Board your vehicle with your local guide, and leave Lisbon behind as you cross the Tagus River on the Vasco da Gama Bridge. Built for the 1998 Lisbon Universal Exposition, it is the longest bridge in Europe at nearly 11 miles (17 km) long! Visit the beautiful Palmela Castle then head over to a local winery to sample four delicious local wines!

Continue to Arrabida Natural Park and admire picturesque views of the Atlantic as you drive up the mountains to the highest peak at 1,640 feet (500 meters). Then return to sea level at the peaceful Portinho da Arrabida Beach. Relax or go for a swim (weather permitting) during some free time.

Take a break for lunch (own expense) at the fishing village of Sesimbra, famous for its delicious fresh seafood. You can also visit the village’s local beaches or go for a walk around town.

Next, follow your guide to a wine tasting session at Casa Museu Jose Maria da Fonseca, one of the oldest wine-producers in Portugal. Enjoy a guided tour of the winery and sample two wines (included) from a wide selection of regional wines.

Finally, visit the Cristo Rei Sanctuary, inaugurated in 1959 and inspired by the famous Cristo Rei monument in Brazil, and admire Lisbon from a distance before returning to the city.
