Of Portugal's 'big three' clubs, two - SL Benfica (Sport Lisboa e Benfica) and Sporting (Sporting Club de Portugal) - are based in Lisbon. They've been rivals ever since Sporting beat Benfica 2-1 in 1907. The season runs from September to mid-June, with most league matches on Sunday; check the papers (especially Bola, the daily football paper) or ask at the turismo. Tickets are sold at the stadium on match day or, for higher prices, at the ABEP ticket agency on the Praça dos Restauradores.
