If you want to rent a car, get in touch with Abreu or Policarpo.

Évora has a branch of the Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP; 266 707 533; fax 266 709 696; Alcárcova de Baixo 7).

You can rent a bike from Silvano Manuel Cégado (266 703 434; Rua Cândido dos Reis 66; per day €10; 9am-7pm Mon-Fri, to 1pm Sat) or from Bike Lab (266 735 500; bikelab@mail.telepac.pt; Centro Comercial da Vista Alegre, Lote 14; per day €8-15), 800m northwest of the centre, which also offers guided bike tours.

Local transport

Taxi

If you want a taxi (266 734 734) you’ll find them waiting in Praça do Giraldo and Largo da Porta de Moura. On a weekday you can expect to pay about €3.50 (€5 with baggage) from the train station to Praça do Giraldo.
