Lonely Planet review for O Antão
With a white, arched, leafy interior, this prize-winning restaurant offers beautifully cooked rural fare such as braised lamb, and partridge with bacon.

Disappointed
marwick30 does not recommend this,
We were disappointed by our dinner in this restaurant. O Antao is recommended by Lonely Planet for its good food. Unfortunately my meat wasn't well cooked (pork), the salad wasn't fresh and the presentation wasn't good. Furthermore, the atmosphere wasn't nice either. The worst was when we received the bill. The three appetizers we didn't order but accepted at it is common in Portugal, cost 3.75ââ¬, 4.75â⬠and 4.75â⬠for some beans, a little piece of cheese and few mushrooms from the can. Normally, the prices of these appetizers are in the menu, but of course not in this restaurant. It was the most expensive dinner and the worst dinner during our great two-weeks stay in the south of Portugal. Don't go there!
