  1. Błyskawica Museum Ship

    Moored on the northern side of the pier are two museum ships, a highlight for visitors. The destroyer Błyskawica has a fascinating story. Escaping capture in 1939 by the German invaders, it went on to serve successfully with Allied naval forces throughout WWII. In 1987 it was awarded the Golden Cross of Military Virtue, the only Polish ship to receive this honour.

  2. Dar Pomorza Museum Ship

    Moored on the northern side of the pier are two museum ships, a highlight for visitors. The beautiful three-masted frigate Dar Pomorza was built in Hamburg in 1909 and used as a training ship for German sailors. Check out the information in English on the dockside before you step aboard.

  3. Monument to Joseph Conrad

    Just beyond the aquarium is a large monument to Józef Konrad Korzeniowski, better known to the English-speaking world as author Joseph Conrad.

  4. Naval Museum

    South of the pier, on Bulwar Nadmorski, is the Naval Museum. It has a display of guns, fighter planes, helicopters and rockets, mostly of interest to militaria aficionados .

  5. Oceanographic Museum & Aquarium

    Near the tip of the pier is the Oceanographic Museum & Aquarium, a minimally interesting institution that improves once you encounter its bigger residents such as moray eels and a green turtle.

    Gdynia's tourist zone is anchored at its Southern Pier. Moored on the northern side are two museum ships, a highlight for visitors.

  7. Stone Mountain

    Behind the naval museum is a 52m-high hill called Stone Mountain, which provides views over the beach, the city centre and the harbour from its pretty parkland summit. Keen cyclists or walkers can follow the Bulwar Nadmorski beach road down to Sopot and Gdańsk.
