The train station and bus station face each other, not far south of the Old Town; you can walk to the Rynek in 10 minutes.

Opole is on the main line between Katowice (28zł, 1¾ hours, hourly) and Wrocław (22zł, 1¼ hours, hourly). Most Katowice trains continue to Kraków (36zł, 3½ hours). There are also frequent trains to Częstochowa (14zł, 1¾ hours), as well as morning and late-afternoon fast trains to Warsaw (84zł, 4½ hours).

Buses go regularly to Nysa (10zł, 1½ hours, up to 12 daily) and Kłodzko (15zł, three hours, five daily), a route not so well serviced by trains.
