Bus

The main bus terminal is just north of the Old Town, across from the castle. Slightly west behind the main bus terminal on ul Ruska is the well-organised minibus station, which dispatches buses all over the region and slightly beyond.

Normal buses go to Warsaw (21zł to 40zł, 3½ hours, every hour) between 3am and 10pm. Minibuses are faster and cheaper (30zł, three hours, every 30 minutes). Polski Express buses (41zł to 50zł, every two hours) go direct to Warsaw airport between 5am and 5pm.

Minibuses to Kazimierz Dolny (7zł, one hour, every 30 minutes, 60km) are more efficient than normal buses (18zł, 2½ hours, every 30 minutes). Normal buses to Puławy pass through Kazimierz Dolny. Minibuses also service Zamość (15zł, two hours, every 30 minutes or so).

There are around 10 daily buses to Sandomierz (15zł, 100km).

Train

The main train station (081 94 36; ul Gazowa 4) is linked to the Old Town by trolleybus 160 and several buses including 13 and 17.

There are around 16 trains per day to Warsaw (20zł, 3½ hours) and a couple to Kraków (40zł to 115zł, five hours). Tickets can be bought at the train station or at Orbis Travel (081 532 2256, ticket bookings 081 532 5402; ul Narutowicza 33A; 9am-6pm Mon-Fri, 9am-2pm Sat).
