In some hotels, you would pay hundreds of złoty for this view of Wawel Castle. But at the Kadetus Hostel, it is free, as is laundry, linens, lockers and Internet access. The hostel sits just outside the Old Town walls, a 10min walk from the Main Square.
With only 30 beds, Kadetus is as small as hostels go. It lends an intimate atmosphere and a level of service that might be lacking at the larger places. This is also a perk when it comes to sharing the kitchen and computer facilities. The five lodging rooms at Kadetus are comfortable and cosy, distinguished by the colours of their walls. Besides the impressive panorama, there is not much in terms of decor. Indeed, the most notable decorative feature at Kadetus Hostel is in the cowboy-themed bathroom. The common area is pleasant, if not overly spacious. Rock music plays on the radio, while guests and staff socialise at the end of the day. The free breakfast, featuring fresh baked bread each morning, is a welcome and delicious touch.
