Getting there & around
Kazimierz can be conveniently visited as a stop on your Lublin–Warsaw route, or as a day trip from Lublin. There’s no railway in Kazimierz but there’s a decent bus service.
Cyclists can acquire a map of bike routes in the area from the PTTK office and some small shops.

Bus & tram
Bus
The PKS bus and minibus terminal is about 100m north of the Rynek. There are normal buses to Puławy (3.20zł, 45 minutes, every half-hour) and urban bus 12 can take you directly to the Puławy train station. The latter is more convenient because it stops closer to the castle than the minibus or PKS buses do.
There are around 14 minibuses per day to Lublin (7zł, 1½ hours, roughly every hour) between 6.20am and 5pm; and some to Zamość (10zł, 1¼ hours).
There are five or so daily fast buses to Warsaw (22zł, 3½ hours), or change for the train in Puławy. Private bus operators also run services from the bus station for Warsaw; tickets can be purchased on the bus for Halo Express (0602 664419), which has six buses to Warsaw daily; or Anmar (081 748 7335; www.anmar.info.pl in Polish), with four buses to Warsaw daily. Check times through the PTTK Office.
Boat
In summer, pleasure boats run to Janowiec (one in the style of a Viking ship, minus oars and whips) on the opposite side of the Vistula – ask at the wharf at the end of ul Nadwiślańska.
There’s also a car and passenger ferry (0602 858898; per person 3zł; 8am-8pm Mon-Fri & 8am-9pm Sat & Sun May-Sep), which takes five minutes and departs 1km west of Hotel Murka Spichlerz.
