Hiking
Gorlice sits at the foot of the mountains and is excellent starting point for hiking into the Beskid Niski. Two marked trails, blue and green, start near the tourist office and wend southeast from the town up the mountains, joining the main west-east red trail that crosses the range.

Magura National Park
While the town is not the main gateway to the 200-sq-km Magura National Park - that honour goes to Krempna, 44km to the southeast - it is easily accessible from here via Sękowa. The tourist office distributes a useful pack of brochures on the park and its flora, fauna and cultural heritage.

WWI cemeteries
There are more than 100 WWI cemeteries around Gorlice. Ask at the tourist office for the brochure Gorlickie Cmentarze z I Wojny Śiatowej (Gorlice Cemeteries from the First World War), which contains illustrations and a simple map.

Streetlamp
Gorlice claims to have the world's first kerosene Streetlamp, dating back to 1854. It's attached to roadside shrine of Christ and an unusual umbrella on the corner of ul Kościuszki and ul Węgierska.
