I will probably be going to the Philippines for the first 4 weeks of December 2016 and would appreciate some pointers as to where to go. I am mainly interested in trekking in forests/mountains/volcanoes, visiting colonial cities, admiring scenery, checking out lakes & waterfalls and swiming/snorkelling. I wouldn't want to spend more than 10 days at the beach though. I am based in Europe and will most likely be flying into Cebu and out of Manila or vice-versa. My budget will be of approximately…
Hello, I'm coming to Philippines in November and need some help to plan my journey. Actually it consists 2 parts - 1st part ( 9 days) I'll be with friends and would like to show them some essentials. 2nd part I'll stay for 8 days more by myself but this part is less important.
So lets focus on the first part of the trip. We have almost whole 9 days (if you count arrival day - 11.00 and departure day 17.00) , we'll land in Manila. I'm thinking about 2 plans
Stay in Luzon in whole trip…

My mate and I (males in early 30's) are travelling from Oz back to Ireland and will be stopping in Philippines on the way home. We arrive to Manila late on Sunday night 27th November and fly out the following Monday afternoon December 5th. We don't think its worth spending time in Manila so we are considering just staying in airport hotel on the Sunday night and catching a flight somewhere the following morning. As we only have a week and will be coming from a hectic week in Oz we are looking…
arrive in Manila on 3rd October, thought maybe a flight to El nido for a few days, then boat to Cebu for a couple of days. Also fancied Borocay ,wanted to do Coron and Bohol, but slightly worried about getting around and that a lot of time and money is going to be taken travelling and flying. Also wanted to see the whale sharks. Any tips or advice would be very much appreciated!! Many thanks in advance.

Just checking out what the vibe is as we don't follow any particular news. Is there a news site you recommend. We've travelled lots in the Philippines & are planning a trip to Surigao, Cagan d Oro etc. I have some very nervous 1st timers & wondering what I should reassure them with. I also don't want to be naive or ignorant of dangers. They sent me a warning that UK has posted & I can understand it's easy to scare anyone off that hasn't been there before. Also, have gotton conflicting…
