Has a certain raw urban appeal, but no hot water. It’s a good enough last-ditch option if other places are full – go for the lighter 4th-floor rooms.
The clean basic rooms at this extra-value place come with optional TV, hot water, air-con, private bathroom and window. Pick what you want and adjust the price. Don’t plan on throwing a party in the singles or eating at the cafe – it’s closed.
This is a buzzing and busy hotel, with a pleasant, cool coffee shop and outdoor courtyard. Check out the Middle Eastern–influenced decor, courtesy of the Lebanese owner. Rooms at the back can be musty and dark – go for the top floor if you can.
This modern place has clean and well-kept rooms with private bathrooms, quality TVs and lots of mirrors. It’s the best moderately priced accommodation in town and is in the heart of the city.
This decent midrange option near the airport – with the definite advantage of a small pool with Mt Mayon views – has a variety of rooms, some tiny with thin walls, so check around. Room 17 is big and tucked away in a quiet nook.
This is a good budget option with lots of room/price choices.
